Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on August 2 for a two-day official visit, according to Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency.

Pezeshkian will be the second president of Iran to travel to Pakistan in two years. The trip was originally scheduled for the final week of July.
In April 2024, Ebrahim Raisi made a three-day official trip to Pakistan. During the journey — which occurred a month prior to Raisi’s demise in a helicopter accident — the international official also toured Lahore and Karachi.
In a post on X, Political Adviser to the Iranian President Mehdi Sanai announced that Dr. Pezeshkian is set to visit Pakistan on Saturday at the request of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He mentioned that official gatherings and talks with “cultural and commercial leaders” were planned.
“The ties between the two nations include political, economic, religious, and cultural aspects, and the aims of the visit consist of enhancing regional and border collaboration and boosting trade from the existing $3 billion.”
The Foreign Office has been contacted for a reply regarding the issue.
Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, mentioned earlier that President Pezeshkian would be making an official trip to Islamabad “soon,” according to IRNA.
In an interview held during his trip to New York, FM Dar mentioned that Pezeshkian was expected to travel to Pakistan and expressed optimism that the visit would occur in early August.
“Pakistan endorses diplomatic measures and a sensible strategy in the area and appreciates all initiatives aimed at de-escalation and discussions with Iran,” he was reported as saying.
He stated that he maintained close communication with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, noting that Pakistan could not stay silent about recent occurrences, including the assault on Irans nuclear sites.
