You can do practically anything in Dubai if you have enough money, and now you can add walking on the moon or at the very least reserving a luxurious room to your list. Moon World Resorts, a Canadian architecture firm, revealed plans this week to build a $5 billion resort that will mimic Earth’s orbiting cousin.
The project’s goal is to make space travel more accessible to tourists who are unrelated to Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk. The “lunar colony,” which is the area surrounding the resort’s lunar surface, is intended to give visitors the impression that they are on or very near the moon. Additionally, guests can reserve one of the 300 sky villas—private boutique homes—that will be located in the disc-shaped superstructure of the main building. If you buy a villa, you will have access to the property’s exclusive members’ club.
According to a press release from co-founders Sandra G. Matthews and Michael R. Henderson, “Moon Dubai will significantly impact every aspect of the UAE’s economy, including tourism, transportation, commercial and residential real estate, infrastructure, financial services, aviation and space, energy, MICE, agriculture, technology, and of course education,” as reported by Arabian Business.
Due to its global appeal, brand awareness, and distinctive numerous integrated offers, [it] will be the greatest and most successful modern tourism project in the MENA area, doubling annual tourist visits to Dubai.
