Iran discovers new gold mine in South Khorasan prov.
TEHRAN, Nov. 30 (MNA) – Local Iranian media said Sunday that a new gold mine has been discovered recentrly in South Khorasan Province in the east.
The Shadan gold mine was included in the country’s vast gold reserves after the permission of the Ministry of Mine and Trade, Fars news agency said.
It is believed that the Shadan region has a proven gold vein deposit of 61 million tons.
The overall reserves are declared to contain 7.95 million tons of gold oxide ore and 53.1 million tons of gold sulfide ore; a value that ranks the Shadan mine among the country’s substantial gold reserves.
