“He has searched for his cherished one for over 400 years…” Unexpected! Luc Besson and EuropaCorp have been developing their own fresh Dracula film, alongside Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu from last year. Check out the initial trailer for Luc Besson’s Dracula: A Love Tale, as it is officially titled. Composed in the 1890s, the classic Dracula tale centers on a nobleman who, upon losing his wife, becomes a vampire through his sorrow and anger towards God. While the original Bram Stoker tale ends on the ill-fated ship the Demeter, Besson’s version will concentrate on the early life of Dracula and his bond with his spouse. Caleb Landry Jones, known for his role in Besson’s DogMan, plays Prince Vladimir. After his wife’s death, a 15th century prince forsakes God and transforms into a vampire. Centuries later, in 19th century London, Vlad spots a woman who looks like his deceased wife and follows her, sealing his destiny. Featuring Zoë Bleu Sidel, Christoph Waltz, Matilda de Angelis, and Guillaume de Tonquédec as well. Dracula is Besson’s most ambitious endeavor since his 2016 sci-fi saga Valerian – it is filmed in English, featuring French subtitles in this preview. Revel in it
